Environmental Services - Housekeeping Assistant Supervisor, Decatur

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Assist supervisor in all responsibilities
  • Fill in as supervisor when the supervisor is off
  • Assigns workers’ duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness
  • Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service, and takes corrective action
  • Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately, and list of prospective discharges to prepare work assignments
  • Coordinates work activities among departments
  • Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation
  • Examines building to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management. 
  • Responsible for maintaining a high skill level of team work, reliability, consistency, fostering confidence,  positive behaviors,  job pride, and accountability. 
  • Works to exceed standard expectation in cleanliness and customer service and performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
  • Director, Environmental Services
 
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • 1) Diploma or GED preferred
  • 2) 2 years Knowledge of experience in housekeeping and customer service.
                                                                                                                                                                   
OSHA Task Category Three: 
  • There is no anticipated risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job. 
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to do kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, climb stairs/ladders, overhead activities, standing for long periods of time, and lift 50 LBS
 
Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
