Laboratory - Laboratory Manager - Argyle

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
  • Manager plans, coordinates, and directs the daily activities of the department to provide quality clinical data to ensure compliance with CAP, JC, FDA, AABB, and CLIA standards.
  • The Lab Manager is responsible for training, monitoring, and evaluating the performance of laboratory personnel and personnel that perform POC testing. 
  • The manager ensures validity and accuracy of test results by review of result logs, QC, correlations, peer groups and worksheets where applicable. 
  • The Lab Manager is responsible for doing patient testing, validating new tests, implementing process improvement, creating staff schedules, entering time cards, verify charges and invoices, create or update policies and attend leadership meetings.
  • The manager must continually strive to improve knowledge, leadership skills, and training skills through formal and informal education. 
 
REPORT RELATIONSHIP:
  • Operationally, reports to the Laboratory Director and Argyle CNO.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1)  Master’s in clinical laboratory science, medical terminology or chemical, physical or biological science, 1 yr laboratory training/experience and 1 yr supervisory experience in a laboratory OR Bachelors in medical terminology or chemical, physical or biological science, 2 yrs laboratory training/experience and 2 yrs supervisory experience in a laboratory  
  • 2)  Must pass WorkSTEPS test and colorblind test

  • There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes during the performance of the job.
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employees when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
