Environmental Services - Housekeeping Supervisor, Decatur

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Works to exceed standard expectation in cleanliness and customer service
  • Assigns workers duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness, investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service, and takes corrective action. 
  • Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective discharges to prepare work assignments, coordinates work activities among departments, makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operations and examines building to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management.  Address employee issues and formulates employee corrective actions. 
  • Performs cleaning duties as required, in cases of emergency or staff shortage. 
  • Sets high standards through personal conduct, coaches & encourages staff with fairness & positive reinforcement, fosters teamwork & participation.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high skill level of  team work, reliability, fostering consistency, confidence, positive employee performance behaviors,  job pride, and employee accountability. 
 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
  • Director, Environmental Services
 
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • 1) Diploma or GED preferred
  • 2) 2 years Knowledge of experience in EVS customer service
  • 3) 2 years of supervising 12 or more people
 
OSHA Task Category Three: 
  • There is no anticipated risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job. 
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to do kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, climb stairs/ladders, overhead activities, standing for long periods of time, and lift 50 LBS
 
Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
