Job summary:
- The therapy services tech provides quality health care services under the supervision of Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant, in the outpatient setting.
- Prepares patients and equipment for treatment, performs housekeeping duties of the department, and assists supervising therapist in selected procedures.
- This person also performs other diverse duties, as requested or required.
- Superficial knowledge of patient care and some knowledge of anatomy and physiology would be helpful but not necessary.
Reporting relationships:
- Reports directly to the Head Physical Therapy Tech at the Decatur setting and the PT Coordinator at satellite clinics, then Outpatient PT Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1) High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- 2) CPR certification.
New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR)
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged physical activity ambulating within the clinic; dexterity, lifting/carrying, reaching, kneeling/sitting, pulling/pushing, and hearing.
OSHA TASK CATEGORY TWO:
- There is an occasional risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job.
- Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.
Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
