Surgery - Perioperative - CNA/PCA, Argyle

POSITION SUMMARY:
  • The CNA/PCA provides assistance with the activities of daily living for Newborn, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric Patients. 
  • This assistance and bedside care is rendered under direction of a licensed nurse. 
  • The CNA/PCA participates in the nursing process by assisting the licensed nurse through communication, observation, and implementation of care of a group of patients. 
  • The CNA/PCA will perform duties in a customer friendly and safe manner.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: 
  • Operationally, reports to the RN in charge of patient care or charge nurse and Pre-Op/PACU/PAT Manager, administratively to the Argyle Chief Clinical Officer.
 
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • 1)  CPR   
  • 2)  Unit specific competency training and evaluation 
  • 3) HS graduate or GED preferred 
  • 4)  Previous clinical experience preferred
 
New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR or any other life support certifications required for the job).
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to lift 50-60 lbs daily, physically demanding
 
EMPLOYEE STATUS:
  • Non-exempt, hourly
 
OSHA TASK CATEGORY ONE:
  • There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills splashes during the performance of the job. 
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
 
Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
