Pharmacy - PRN CPT - Argyle

Job summary:  
  • Registered Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists in preparing, distributing, and storing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. 
  • Registered Pharmacy Technicians work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. 
  • They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. 
  • Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods. 
  • Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff. 
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. 
  • Ability to set priorities and solve problems. 
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Ability to assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
 
Reporting Relationship: 
  • Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)                           
 
Requirements: 
  • 1) Certified Registered Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) 
  • 2)  2-3 years experience preferred
  • 3)  BLS required
 
New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and/or any other life support certifications required for the job).
 
Schedule: 
  • Weekdays, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
 
OSHA Task Category Three: 
  • There is no anticipated risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job. 
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.
 
Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
 
Physical requirements: 
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers. 
  • May require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs.), including boxes, equipment, and IV solutions and stooping or kneeling (ex. To pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers).  
  • Walking or standing for long periods of time (4-12 hours) is often necessary. 
  • Must be able to physically operate the equipment used for the job.
