Surgery - OR Equipment Specialist, Argyle

  • The Operating Room Equipment Specialist is responsible for coordinating and maintaining all surgical equipment, makes sure all biomed checks are current. 
  • Helps trouble shoots all departments with computer problems and phone system connectivity.
  • Works with team to set-up, assemble, basic maintenance, storage, and trouble shooting for all equipment used in the operating room. 
  • This includes, but is not limited to, all lasers, microscopes, video equipment, endo-processors, specialty tables, tourniquets, cautery machines, insufflators and irrigators. 
  • Good communication skills needed.
  • The Equipment Specialist is under the direct supervision of the Surgery Team Leader/Charge Nurse  for general responsibilities.
  • Administratively the equipment technician specialist is under the Manager of Surgery and CCO.
  • 1)  High school diploma or equivalent preferred  
  • 2) BLS certified 
  • 3) Experience with electronic and mechanical equipment.
  • 4) Hospital/surgical experience
New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR)

  • Able to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis, able to lift 50-80 occasionally
  • Non-exempt hourly

  • There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills splashes during the performance of the job. 
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
