Bariatrics Parkway - Bariatric Dietitian, Fort Worth

 JOB SUMMARY:       
  • In consultation with physicians and other members of the health care team coordinates the nutritional care and education of adult patients undergoing bariatric surgery; optimize patient outcomes and improve the quality of life for the morbidly obese. 
  • Must have a sensitive approach and high customer service attitude for obese patients; effective teaching skills; attentive to detail and accuracy; ability to perform professional duties independently; ability to work with multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Must return patient telephone messages and emails promptly; participates in offsite functions; inform physicians and/or surgeons of any concerns regarding patient dietary compliance; assess, communicate, and implement plans for nutritional needs; monitor nutritional status and eating behaviors and adjust as necessary; organize, maintain, and manage the supplement store in the office and on the website; educates physicians and nurses on Nutrition/Food Service-related issues; create and/or assisting with the production of marketing/educational; write educational blogs for the website; actively follow-up with post bariatric patients.

  • Bariatric Clinical Coordinator
                       
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • 1)  Bachelor of Science in Dietetics.
  • 2)  Registered by the American Dietetic Association 
  • 3)  CPR 
  • 4)  Preferred 1 year experience working with clients desiring weight loss and/or who have undergone bariatric surgery
  • 5) Travel to satellite clinics 3-5 days per month

Must have current licensure/certifications upon hire. 

New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and/or any other life support certifications required for the job).
 
OSHA TASK CATEGORY TWO: 
  • There is an occasional risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job. 
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.
 
Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
