Midas System Manager, Decatur

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsible for assisting the Quality Department and Midas Team in the day to day operations of Midas. Coordinates and Collaborates with all hospital staff related to Midas; reporting needs, data quality, and education.  Works with Midas Support Staff as Liaison to Hospital Staff as needed.
Monitor interfaces                   
  • Monitors data in the Midas Care Management system to ensure consistent, accurate flow of patient information.
  • Assists with maintaining system Dictionaries
  • Check weekly for upload issues and unknowns crossing systems                       .
Maintaining system integrity                          
  • Monitors system backup log to ensure of the Midas Care Management system occurs daily.
  • Provide first-line assistance for system users; coordinates communications internally and with Midas Support Services for hardware and software problem resolution
  • Loads Documents into the Midas system and assists users to make sure documents and reports stay up to date with regulatory guidelines and user needs.
  • Maintains Midas worklist change request forms and meets with staff to ensure Data Quality within Midas system
  • Manage and organize Midas database files and folders that are stored within Midas system to ensure duplicate documents and reports are not stored in Midas
  • Reviews system for problems with data and/or your Midas Care Management system, maintains documentation tor recording problems, issues, and resolutions.
  • Create a Problem Log that includes the following information:              
    • Date of problem wDescription of problem  wReporting Person  wDate reported  wDescription of solution  wWho was involved in the solution  
Midas Functional Systems and Reporting                   
  • Assists with monitoring Indicator reporting and /or processing jobs
  • Assists with Mapping, Maintaining, Linking Dictionaries; reviews for unknowns, outdated, and duplicate terms; updates dictionary. Ensures Interfaced Dictionaries are working properly and interfaces are crossing the interface correctly into appropriate dictionary mapped, to safeguard the quality of data reported in system
  • Manually updates Provider Dictionary with new providers as provided; updates Employee dictionary with employee emails; update all dictionaries when new terms are added
  • Identify and resolve suspected duplicate accounts must ensure the data is merged into the record corresponds with EDM and WHS medical records
  • Notifies appropriate staff of suspected duplicates which are not resolved in the EDM medical record system; which are showing in Midas and interfering with Quality Reporting      
  • Ensures User Access to Midas system reports, and Focus Studies as well as building reports within system to assist user have access to data
  • Maintain all documentation of the Midas Care Management system including upgrade and enhancement documentation; ensure that users are able to see reports and use system smoothly after enhancements.Notifies Midas of issues and errors in system.
Training users            
  • Assists with Facilitating on-going training for new and existing Midas users on site, as well as coordinate training with Midas staff
  • Meets with Staff in group or individual sessions to ensure understanding of system and assist with tailoring reports and studies for Process Improvement needs
  • Works closely with Director of Quality Measures; communicates on daily basis and takes direction regarding Midas systems to ensure system integrity and Midas functionality
  • Coordinates with the Quality Department Directors and Team to effectively integrate Midas services with other clinical services; serves as contact personnel in resolving problems concerning the technology systems and services provided by WHS with Midas
  • Assists with Statit build and maintenance within Midas system, works closely with Peer Review and Quality Team to ensure Midas meets WHS reporting requirements
  • Reports to Director of Quality Measures/Registries
  • 1) 1-2 years IT experience   
  • 2) Associates degree or equivalent combination of experience preferred  
  • 3) Experience with Quality or Process Improvement
Work Performance knowledge requirements: 
  • 1) Displays thorough knowledge and understanding of healthcare /hospital business operations, the interrelationship of business processes and IS applications
Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
  • 1) Associates or equivalent experience   
  • 2) Knowledge of Midas
  • There is no anticipated risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job. 
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.
