Admissions - Admissions Clerk, Argyle FT M-F, 1p-9p

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
  • Registers patients, gathering demographical information from patients and entering into computer.
  • Obtains insurance cards, picture identification and consents from patients and scans into system.
  • Coordinates will all departments.
  • Responsible for collecting copays, deductibles and deposits from patients.
  • Supports and answers switchboard.
  • Uses best customer service and strong communication skills with patients, families, visitors and staff.
  • Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
 
REPORT RELATIONSHIP: 
  • Operationally, collaborates with the Director of Admissions in Decatur with direct report to the site CFO/Controller
 
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • 1.  High School Diploma preferred.
  • 2. Previous experience or some hospital clerical experience or medical terminology preferred.
  • 3. BLS required
 
New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and/or any other life support certifications required for the job).

Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
 
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENT: 
  • Duties requires intermittent walking, sitting, standing, some bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 40 pounds.
