Laboratory - Outreach Manager, Decatur

  • The Outreach Manager will be responsible for management of the Wise Health System Outreach Program for the Laboratory.
  • This includes management of personnel and facilities under the Outreach Program.
  • Will conduct site visits and inspections of Outreach facilities and maintain competencies for the staff.
  • Effectively communicates with Lab administration on establishing new sites and contracts for new facilities.
  • Maintains and updates contracts and lab menus of Outreach facilities.
  • Maintains and updates contact information for physicians and administration of all outreach facilities.
  • Orders supplies for all facilities and maintains waste disposal contracts.
  • Will conduct multiple site visits and requires reliable personal transportation.
  • Maintains effective written and verbal communication with Outreach facilities and their management teams.
  • Adheres to safety regulations, hospital policies and HIPAA requirements.
  • Conducts investigations for laboratory issues with each clinic and provides laboratory management with sound resolutions.
  • Coordinates, develops, and maintains the scope and performance of the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  • Provides assistance to Laboratory Management for other administrative duties required to maintain compliance with regulatory parties.
  • Operationally, the Laboratory Outreach Manager reports to the Laboratory Management.
  • 1) Must be a MT/MLS/MLT certified by a national agency or meet requirements as defined in the CLIA 88 Federal Register
  • 2) Minimum five years of MT/MLS/MLT experience
  • 3) Two years of laboratory management or supervisor preferred
  • 4) Experience in Information Technology preferred
  • 5) Must pass WorkSTEPS and color blind Test.
  • There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes during the performance of the job.
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employees when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
