IP Rehab - PRN Occupational Therapist, Decatur

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Occupational Therapist provides quality occupational therapy services to those appropriate patients on the Rehabilitation Unit.
  • The staff member coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team including patient and family education to provide exceptional patient care.
  • This person also performs other diverse duties as requested or required.   
  • Demonstrates knowledge base and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the condition of patient’s served.
  • The Occupational Therapist must demonstrate familiarity with the principles of growth and development throughout the life cycle.
  • The Occupational Therapist must be able to assimilate basic knowledge and patient related data to perform a comprehensive and age appropriate evaluation that is completed and documented within the licensure requirements. 
 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
  • The Occupational Therapist reports directly to the Therapy Manager or to the Program Director.  
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1. Maintain a current license as an Occupational Therapist by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.
  • 2. Current CPR certification
 
Must have current licensure/certifications upon hire. 

New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and/or any other life support certifications required for the job).
 
OSHA TASK ONE:
  • There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes during the performance of the job.
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
 
Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
