Summary of Responsibilities:

As a Project Manager & Real Estate Manager, you will direct and manage hospital construction projects and real estate properties to achieve owner satisfaction in accordance with the Hospital’s vision statement and policies.

Report Relationship: 
  • Reports to the Vice President of Facilities Services
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) certificate preferred 

Job Qualifications:

Must have hospital construction experience with knowledge of acute inpatient, outpatient and clinic healthcare patient areas.
  • The Project Manager will be responsible for managing design and construction projects and construction services provided by outside contractors.Operate as the main point of contact with the customer (and/or Owner’s Representatives) to develop and maintain the best possible professional relationship and understand the project goals and expectations.
  • Manage Real Estate properties – manage, inspect and coordinate projects.Manage lease agreements and tenant issues.Maintain all properties to uphold and represent Wise Health System to the highest standard.Manage real-estate portfolio and keep current all relative details pertaining to all properties.
  • Communicate with customers, design teams, construction contractors, agencies, and other project stakeholders to achieve project success.Knowledge of Joint Commission, Administrative Code, applicable NFPA Codes, and Local Building Codes as applied to ongoing planning, alteration, and renovation projects and the ability to successfully work with governmental agencies.
  • Detailed knowledge of all aspects of building systems and codes sufficient to plan, direct and manage projects incorporating complex designs.This position requires working knowledge of construction trade practices, ICRA/PCRA, ILSM and safety requirements sufficient to manage all phases of project planning, construction and renovation.
  • Skill in managing all administrative and technical aspects of construction and alteration projects in a medical healthcare environment.Demonstrated skill in using a PC with related software including MS Office Suite, CAD, Access, and other project management software.
  • Ability to exercise sound time-management skills, control projects and work proactively to mitigate complications that may jeopardize project productivity.Proven ability to manage situations in the face resistance or indifference with regards to project planning and technical building systems.Proven ability to communicate on a one-to-one basis or in a group setting to obtain or convey accurate and correct information.
  • Must be able to manage projects from design, construction, commissioning to detailed turnover with documentation.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must have the ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance, climb ladders and work in confined uncomfortable conditions.
  • Also must have the ability to work in extreme weather conditions.

OSHA Task Category Two:
  • There is an occasional risk of exposure to chemical burn, electrical shock, moving heavy equipment can sometimes result in muscle strains or other injuries, and there is a risk of fall hazards while on ladders.

Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
