Information Systems - Clinical Informatics Analyst, Bridgeport

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Clinical Informatics Analyst is responsible for leading and participating in planning, development, implementation, training, evaluation of use, and optimization of clinical information systems. This role is responsible for building, testing, and implementing computer applications and other systems that support Wise Health System’s business & clinical initiatives. This role serves as the internal expert for the EHR, and is responsible for assisting in overall implementation and long term maintenance & optimization activities. The Clinical Informatics Analyst collaborates closely with and communicates between IS and the Wise Health Systems clinical staff and leaders to align EHR system features and functionality with daily workflows and long term strategic objectives of WHS.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with administration, clinical departments and associates, information services, and other disciplines to enhance their workflow methodology and tools.
  • Works with clinical departments and IT team members in evaluating the effectiveness of technologies and workflows that impact clinical users.
  • Acts as a change agent in the identification, development, planning, implementation of informatics strategies to support and promote quality patient care
  • Provides critical analysis and evaluation of health IT and recommends revision of clinical systems, processes, and workflow to ensure achievement of positive patient outcomes.
  • Combines knowledge of patient care, informatics concepts, and change management to effectively address the information and knowledge needs of patients
  • Monitors the environment, technology, and infrastructure to support the prevention of medical errors and adverse events.
  • Promotes the use of health IT to improve patient safety by designing, developing, implementing, and educating on decision support tools.
  • Supports nursing leadership to implement infrastructure including policies and procedures that support the nursing community.
  • Collaborates with leadership in project/program planning and development that supports department and organizational initiatives.
  • Participates as a project leader and management support, focusing on initiatives supporting nursing and/or clinical care services.
  • Assesses, plans, designs, implements, and evaluates clinical workflow and business processes to define technology needs.
  • Takes complete ownership of assigned tasks; takes initiative and drives to bring to logical conclusion; proactive approach.
  • Continually assesses the education needs of staff, patients, and families. Plans and contributes to formal and informal education for staff, patients and families.
  • Participates actively in committees by the Director of Enterprise Solutions.
  • Provides after hour and weekend support as needed.

  • Operational: Director of Enterprise Solutions, Functional: Manager of Clinical Informatics
 
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • 1) Current licensed healthcare provider
  • 2) 5 years of clinical experience
  • 3) Knowledge and experience in clinical systems and technology
  • 4) Basic knowledge of healthcare informatics
  • 5) Basic knowledge of change management, IT hardware, and project management
  • 6) Preferred knowledge of Allscripts EMR

  • Exempt
