  •   The RN will provide quality nursing care and patient/family education for the outpatient population, of all ages, undergoing physician ordered diagnostic and interventional pain medicine. 
  • Utilizing the nursing process, will initiate and maintain positive working relationships with staff, physicians, and inter-facility departments to provide optimal patient outcomes within the framework of professional nursing practice.
  • Will demonstrate the knowledge base and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and condition of the patients served.
  • Must be able to perform a comprehensive, age appropriate assessment, develop and implement an individualized plan of care, identify and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition, and serve as a direct patient advocate.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.
  • Must exercise safe clinical judgments according to the standards of nursing practice and Nurse Practice Act. 
  • These functions are carried out according to Wise Health System policy, mission statement and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.
  •   Must meet WHS qualification for administration and monitoring moderate sedation.
  • The Staff RN is under the direction of the Administrator/Director of Nursing WHS Pain Management Center at Southlake, and the administrative direction of Chief Nursing Officer in conjunction with the Vice President of Secondary Market Services.
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Texas
  • 1 year clinical experience preferred
  • previous pain management experience preferred 
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.    

Must have current licensure/certifications upon hire. 
New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the certifications (BLS, ACLS) required for the job).
  • Must able to, with adequate help, transport and transfer all patients within the facility as necessary.
  • There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills splashes during the performance of the job.
  •   Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
