SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient requirement relative to his or her age-specific needs
  • Exhibits a positive, friendly attitude, good communication skills, and exemplary customer service skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill interpreting cardiac rhythms
  • Provide accurate documentation of cardiac rhythms every four hours and as needed per individual patient cardiac changes
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff and other departments to provide optimal quality outcomes for patients
  • Ability to provide clerical support for the nursing unit
  • Assists in admission and discharge process
  • Maintains patient records, accurate communications, efficient nursing station
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
 
These functions are carried out according to Wise Health System policy, mission statement and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. Complete unit specific training as determined by the Unit Director.  
 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  Critical Care Supervisor and Director of Critical Care
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • CPR certification
  • Completion of unit provided EKG interpretation class
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse
 
New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required CPR certification.
 
STATUS:  Non-Exempt

There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes during the performance of the job.  Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employees when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
