Ancillary Imaging Staff RN, Decatur

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • The Ancillary Imaging RN will provide quality nursing care and patient/family education for the outpatient population, of all ages, undergoing physician ordered diagnostic and interventional pain medicine. 
  • Utilizing the nursing process, will initiate and maintain positive working relationships with staff, physicians, and inter-facility departments to provide optimal patient outcomes within the framework of professional nursing practice.
  • Will demonstrate the knowledge base and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and condition of the patients served.
  • Must be able to perform a comprehensive, age appropriate assessment, develop and implement an individualized plan of care, identify and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition, and serve as a direct patient advocate.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.
  • Must exercise safe clinical judgments according to the standards of nursing practice and Nurse Practice Act. 
  • These functions are carried out according to Wise Health System policy, mission statement and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.
 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: 
  • Operationally, reports to the Imaging Nursing Services Coordinator and/or Director and administratively to the Administrative Director, Ancillary Services.
 
REQUIREMENTS:    
  • 1) Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Texas   
  • 2) 1 year clinical experience preferred, previous pain management experience preferred.    
  • 3) BLS and ACLS certifications.    
  • 4) Must meet WHS qualification for administration and monitoring moderate sedation.
 
Must have current licensure/certifications upon hire. 

New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, moderate sedation) required for the job).
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Must able to, with adequate help, transport and transfer all patients within the Monticello facilities as necessary.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Travel to out-lying imaging centers affiliated with WHS for sedation or other nursing support will be necessary.
 
OSHA TASK CATEGORY ONE:
  • There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills splashes during the performance of the job. 
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
 
EMPLOYEE STATUS: 
  • Non-exempt Hourly
