Cath Lab RN - Decatur

  • Coordinates nursing care and patient/family education for Adult, and Geriatric patients through the use of the nursing process; maintains positive working relationships with staff and other departments to provide optimal quality outcomes within the framework of professional nursing practice. 
  • These responsibilities are met according to hospital policy, hospital mission statement and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.
  • Demonstrates knowledge base and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patients served. 
  • The nurse must be able to assimilate basic knowledge and patient related data to perform a comprehensive and age appropriate assessment, using the total patient care concept to identify each patient requirements and specific needs. 
  • Must be able to take call and Specialty Certification.
  • Operationally, the Staff RN reports to the Department Director and House Supervisor and administratively to the Chief Nursing Officer.
  • 1.) Possess current licensure to practice nursing in Texas     
  • 2.) Must be certified in BCLS     
  • 3.) ACLS
  • 1.) 2 years Cath Lab experience preferred                      
  • 2.) Experience in cardiac rhythm recognition            
  • There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills splashes during the performance of the job. 
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
