Job title:  Staff Physical Therapist or PTA
Job summary:  The staff physical therapist or physical therapy assistant provides quality physical therapy services to those appropriate patients in the outpatient setting.  Is under the general supervision of the Outpatient PT Supervisor or his/her designee.  Prepares patients and equipment for treatment.  This person also performs other diverse duties, as requested or required.  Appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication with patients, their families and other health care providers.  Independent action and judgment to plan work, evaluate patients, and determine action to be taken within standard procedure.
Reporting relationship:  Outpatient PT Supervisor then, Administrative Director of Rehabilitation & Wellness
Requirements:  1)  Graduate of an accredited physical therapist  program 2)  Texas state licensure.  3) CPR certification. 
Physical/mental requirements:  Fairly strong and energetic individual which entails: walking, standing, writing, stooping, carrying, talking, seeing, bending, handling, color vision, speed, healthy back, being on feet most of the day, lifting balancing, sitting, kneeling, hearing, reaching, pulling, and coordination/dexterity to handle the tools and machines of the profession. 
OSHA task category two:  There is an occasional risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job.  Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.
