Wound Care Technician/CNA

JOB TITLE:    Wound Care Technician/CNA
The Wound Care Technician is responsible for providing assistance in routine and complex wound care to patients. Under the guidance of the licensed nurse, the Tech actively participates in the nursing process by assisting in communication, observation, and implementation of patient care.  Responsibilities also include daily completion of stocking patient rooms with supplies, administrative tasks, or other duties specific for wound care.   The Tech will receive clinic specific competency training annually.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:  The Wound Care Tech/CNA is under the direct supervision of the Clinic Intake Coordinator and is under the guidance of all licensed nurses.  The Wound Care Tech/CNA is also under the direction of the Director of the Wound Care Center.
REQUIREMENTS:  1) Current Texas License to work as a Certified Nurse’s Aide 2) CPR certified 3) Wound care clinic competency training and evaluation within 90 days 4) High school diploma, or equivalence preferred 5) Previous experience working directly with patients as a licensed CNA preferred

Must have current licensure/certifications upon hire.
Physical requirements:   Able to lift 10-20 pounds daily and lift up to 40 pounds on occasion to 42”.
