JOB TITLE:    Nurse Practitioner
 
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  Nurse Practitioners diagnose and treat work related injuries, and perform pre-placement, DOT, public safety, and surveillance physical examinations for varied private companies and governmental agencies.  Clinicians with primary care, urgent care experience and communication skills.  Knowledge and experience in adult education principles and/or patient care practice.
 
REPORT RELATIONSHIP:  Director, WHC
 
REQUIREMENTS:  1)  Possess current licensure to practice nursing in Texas as a Family Nurse Practitioner 2)  Clinical experience in specific acute care setting preferred  3) CPR
 
Must have current licensure/certifications upon hire. 

New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and/or any other life support certifications required for the job).
 
OSHA TASK CATEGORY ONE:  There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills splashes during the performance of the job.  Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
 
Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
 
Physical requirements:   Able to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis to 42”, able to lift 10-20 pounds daily, able to lift 50-80 occasionally

REQUIREMENTS:  1)  Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Studies program.  2)  Experience in specific acute care setting preferred 3) CPR  4)  Privileges through Wise Health System
