JOB TITLE:    Wound Care Registered Nurse or LVN
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Wound Care Registered Nurse/LVN is responsible for providing routine and complex wound care to patients.  Responsibilities also include expert patient care with emphasis on acute and chronic wounds, complex wound dressings, bedside procedures, nursing assessments; venipuncture’s, and managing patients using the nursing care plan model.  The RN/LVN collaborates with colleagues and other medical disciplines to provide safe ongoing care; supervising wound care techs, student’s, and non-licensed personnel assigned to clinic as needed; keeps abreast of current wound care clinical guidelines and best practice strategies through continued educational opportunities.   The RN/LVN completes a basic online wound care course & specific wound care clinic competency training.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:  The Registered Nurse/LVN is under the supervision and direction of the Wound Care Clinic Director. 
REQUIREMENTS:  1) Current Texas License to work as a Registered Nurse or LVN 2) BLS/CPR certification 3) ACLS certification  4) Wound Care Certification or Wound Care Specialist preferred  5) High School diploma, or equivalence preferred  6) One year of previous wound care clinical experience preferred
Must have current licensure/certifications upon hire.
New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and/or any other life support certifications required for the job).
