JOB TITLE: Director of Business Intelligence & Decision Support - Healthcare
  • This position will focus on advancing Information Management and Decision Support across the organization with a vision to leverage technology enablers that support clinical, financial and corporate decision-making.
  • This position provides key leadership and direction based on the use of data and analytics to inform health service planning, quality, financial activities and decision-making. 
  • The Director will ensure and foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making strategies that use technology to optimize the cost effectiveness and reliability of resources, are the focus of the department.


SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and maintain data visualization systems and reports for clinical, quality and administrative users to aid in decision making, quality review, trending and forecasting analysis
 
  Some of the key responsibilities include:
  • Ensures the biweekly and monthly processing of financials, clinical, quality and other analytics reports pertaining to financial and patient are distributed in a timely and accurate manner and data reconciles with source systems to ensure data integrity.
  • Resolves all system problems and audits all routine reports before distribution.
  • In partnership with the Quality Department, reviews patient level clinical data to ensure data quality and eliminate any discrepancies with source systems. 
  • Works closely with IS to correct source data problems for outside clinical data submissions.  
  • Work with IS to develop on-going audits to ensure Allscripts’ CPM/PLA /EPSi and Midas and other data sources are replicated in the Enterprise Data Warehouse has no discrepancy with the source systems.
  • Advises and educates users on the use of cost data in answering their questions regarding their operation and business needs. 
  • Performs cost analyses for various clinical and financial pro-forma projects.
  • Assists in pulling clinical data for various clinical and quality initiatives. 
  • Develops training materials & organizes on-going training sessions to educate managers and department analysts about data reporting, new data fields, and new processes.  

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Chief Information Officer with dotted line to the V.P. of Finance
 
POSTION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education:  Required 4 Year/Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Experience: Minimum- 8 or more years of experience in Health Care Finance or Health Care Business Intelligence with direct supervision over multiple team members. 
  • Minimum- 5 years of management experience;
  • Two years experience using EPSi

  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure
