Radiology - Special Procedures Rad Tech/IR Tech

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible to assist and perform prescribed specialized radiographic procedures as directed by following department/facility policies, procedures and protocols for all aspects of diagnostic and interventional procedures performed at Wise Health System or our outlying facilities.
  • Principles of positioning, radiographic sciences, and radiation protection are exercised with specialized techniques. 
  • Responsible for on call procedures when indicated, patient charge entry, availability of procedure supplies and inventory management.
  • Must be personally responsible to obtain required hours (CEU) credits to maintain registry.
 
REPORT RELATIONSHIP:
  • Assistant Director of Radiology
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1) Good standing with current credentials with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • 2) BLS
  • 3) License by the Texas Department of Health
  • 4)1 year experience as a Radiology Tech

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to lift 30+ pounds on a regular basis to 42”
  • Able to transfer/transport and help lift patients onto or off stretcher or x-ray tables on a daily basis

Must have current licensure/certifications upon hire. 


New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required Basic Life Support (CPR, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and/or any other life support certifications required for the job).

 
OSHA TASK CATEGORY TWO:
  • There is an occasional risk of exposure to mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashed during the performance of the job. 
  • Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.

Employment standards include current requirements as determined by Federal, State, and Wise Health System policy.
